Legal process
Tattoos for under-18s
It is possible from 15, and the process is strict. This page exists so the parent or guardian knows exactly what will happen.
What is required
First, that the young person wants it themselves and can explain why. If we sense they have been pushed into it, we do not tattoo.
Second, written authorisation from a parent or legal guardian, with ID copies for both the adult and the minor.
Third, identity and relationship verified in person on the day of the session. The adult must be there.
Why we are strict about it
A tattoo is permanent and a minor cannot consent on their own. The process protects the young person, the family and the studio.
We also give an opinion on the decision itself: which body parts are worth avoiding at that age, what size makes sense, and what it means long term. If we think the idea is a mistake, we say so.

Preguntas frecuentes
What is the minimum age to be tattooed in Madrid?
At Arkadia we tattoo from 15, always with written authorisation from a parent or legal guardian, ID copies for both, and identity verified in person on the day. The responsible adult has to be present during the session.
Is a signed authorisation enough on its own?
No. Alongside the signed document we need ID copies for the adult and the minor, and the adult present on the day so we can verify identity and the relationship. It is the only way to be sure the authorisation is genuine.

Been turning that idea over for months?
Tell us about it and we will come back with a price, how many sessions it takes and how it would sit on your body. Free, no strings: if it does not add up for you, that is fine.
